Sony DCR-VX9000 mechanical issue

I would like some help regarding my VX9000 DV (not mini DV) camera which I have owned from new with absolutely no faults and so far no repairs. It now has a problem playing a tape. After appearing to load normally it starts playing but very soon after slows down and stops, it will however play the cleaning tape.

You have a problem with the tape, Either sticky shed syndrome or the reels are mechanically dragging, Get the tape fixed by baking if SSS or or swapping the shells if mechanical problem.

I have several tapes and it does the same thing with all of them. Except the Sony cleaning tape.

The terms "sticky shed syndrome", "baking" and "shells" need further research on my part.
