I wish to silence the beginning of a dtsma track (which I've already extracted) for a specific time interval, with a resolution of 1 ms. How do I do that?

There is no way to do this directly in the compressed (DTS) domain, so you would have to decompress to LPCM, do the silencing with a standard audio editor, and re-compress to DTS (losing some quality in the process).

Ugh, that doesn't sound pretty (no pun!). I think I'll leave it as is. Edit: How about if I just lop off the start of the track for a specified interval?

While there is a tool that has some capability to do that for mp3 and mp4/aac, I know of no tool that can do that for dts. If one does exist, there would also be limits to the time resolution/atomicity, due to the way dts uses buffered chunks in its time domain compression.

Thanks Scott. It sounds like 1 ms resolution is overly ambitious. Do you think 0.1 second might be doable?

If it's an mkv maybe you can run it through mkvmerge to clip it,not sure if it will work.

Thank you. I have mktoolnix. Is there a tutorial on how to edit using mkvmerge?

I'm wondering if cutting on keyframes wouldn't be necessary if there's no video?
Try to import only the dts track in MTX. In the Output tab, set your desired Split mode and values. Mux to *.mka.
Does this work? I actually never tried...
