Somewhere there is a way to add a file extension to the group of file associations in Windows. I cannot find it and search is just giving me the runaround. I can associate known file types with progs easily enough. I want to add MKV to the group and cannot recall how to do it.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!

Solved.
I got the MKV added.
I was jumping all over so I think the answer ( from memory) is just right click on the file and say Open With and the file type is added to the list .
