Just to be sure:
a. There is no 'this is the way' method for HDR to SDR, like all color grading, this is based on personal preferances.
b. different HDR types require different approaches
c. settings should be adjusted per clip (setting that look fine on one clip cal look horrid on another)

In general the steps you do are:
a. choose whatever HDR2SDR method your like from 'Filtering->Vapoursynth->Color->HDR to SDR' ('Filtering->Vapoursynth->Matric->TimeCube' also has LUTs which can do this)
b. make sure that the encoder you use properly signals the VUI data you want.
c. configure the rest of Hybrid to your liking
