Depends on how much you denoised the source file. Overall, lsfmod should work fine. Check the faces, where you will first notice possible excessive denoising combined with too much sharpening.

Ok thanks, I havent tried that one yet, Ill give it a go next. Im not really seeing much difference with the ones that Ive tried so far.

I was probably expecting too much, especially as the video is bad quality to begin with, its from an LP recording.
The first clip is what Im working with, The second has been denoised and sharpened with Lollo's settings. Im not sure if the video is benefiting from the sharpening or not? -

Ok Ive just tried Lollos sharpening settings with TemporalDegrain instead of HQDN3D which I was using before. Its a much better result.

I can't open your Go Fishing 2 file in VDub

Even if original is a bit washed-out, I do see a difference:
video comparison
comp.avi
image comparison (interlaced versus progressive, but look the static portions)

Processing:
Code:QTGMC(preset="slow", matchpreset="slow", matchpreset2="slow", sourcematch=3, tr1=2, tr2=1, NoiseTR=2, sharpness=0.1) TemporalDegrain2(degrainTR=3) LSFmod(defaults="slow") ### no chroma sharpening, injected back pre-sharpened chroma
edit: even looking to your attempt the difference is there:

As per Alwin request, which is appropriate, here a comparison with the above processing without and with sharpening (both deinterlaced and denoised):

Are my eyes deceiving me or has the sharpening made the sky slightly lighter in colour?

Still can't open your fisherman AVI. AVISynth says it can't find a decompressor. One of your earlier clips, Clip (1) opens OK. -
I do not see nor measure any color deviation after LSFmod processing:

some deblocking and using mcdegrainsharp and/or CAS might also help too

Thanks for the input gents, I feel like another strings been added to the bow now.

The chroma is not being realigned before sharpen on these samples. Chroma must be addressed before deinterlace.

No time.
ChromaShift() in Avisynth
And possibly CCD (Camcorder Color Denoise) in VirtualDub.
The cNR in Avisynth sucks, one of these times that VirtualDub has superior filters.
Those are both very basic straight-forward filters, not much need for help.
