  1. I downloaded a divx-file with one frame which can not be decompressed by any player.In virtualdub it gives the same error.Whatever conversion I try it stops on that same frame ,any solution?could I remove just one frame?

    It may be something more than one frame. However, it won't hurt to try to fix it, as you will still have what you start with. In Virtualdub use the mark-in mark-out tools to isolate just before and just after the problem frame. I would cut out a few frames if cutting out one won't work. Just mark the selection with the mark-in/out tools and hit delete. BTW, you can navigate frame by frame by using the arrow keys. When you have deleted it, Video >>Direct stream copy and File>>Save avi.
