Hi guys, I have in my collection several animated movies in MKV and I wish to cut some scenes from the movie but without modify quality, just cut one or various scenes and save it as MKV movie

    Please could you recommend some?

    Thank You in advance

  2. For cutting on keyframes only (not frame accurate), without loss of quality and fast (since streamcopy), you can use avidemux or clever FFmpeg-GUI.

I have questions about features that you may need the editor to include. Do you need the ability to cut on any frame? Are all of the video streams in your MKV files either AVC/H.264 or HEVC/H.265? What is your budget for the editing software?

if the MKV files include muxed subtitle streams (for example, PGS, SRT, or SSA) you will probably need to edit the subtitles separately with a subtitle editor. The only software that I have heard of that the developer says can edit muxed subtitles along with the video can only cut video on I frames.

If these movies are N. American releases that include N. American closed captions, do you want to keep the closed captions? Also, be aware that there are some kinds of audio, for example most types of DTS audio and Dolby Atmos, that you won't be able to edit with any software available to consumers.

I have succesfully exported parts of mkv containing DTS-MA or TrueHD Atmos and subtitles (PGS) using the splitting options in MKVToolnix. But video can only be cut at keyframes indeed.
