    Hello,

I am trying to convert analogue mini DV videos from a Panasonic NV-DS77 camcorder to digital video files on my computer HP Envy x360 with Windows 11.

The camcorder is connected to my PC via a connection that looks like this: camcorder firewire 4-pin connexion- firewire 9-pin - USB Thunderbolt 2 - USB Thunderbolt 3 connexion to the computer.

I have downloaded the driver for the camcorder from Panasonic website and saved the files on my computer.

    https://av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/support/global/cs/e_cam/download/downdvc_usb.html

I have also tried to download some drivers for Ports ( COM&LPT) via the device manager.

I have also tried to download the software WinDV:

    https://www.videohelp.com/software/WinDV

Despite all this, the computer does not identify that there is a new connexion/device.

    What do you recommend?

    9DV is digital.

Why fo you need COM and LPT?

Verify in Windows control panel, System Settings → Privacy → App Permissions → Camera is enabled for desktop apps. This may affect whether you camcorder can be discovered and connected to.

WinDV is temperamental. Try another app like Windows MoviMaker, it has a capture module.
