Is there a tool (not counting Bulk Rename Utility) that can number files (and not just only in alphabetical order) while also keeping their original names?

Never mind, I found a tool called Flash Renamer where you can drag the files in the order you want them to. The unregistered version is not limited in any way, all features are free.

I also found this tool called Advanced Renamer. For personal home use, it's free of charge.

I would also suggest Advanced Renamer. It allows you to add a numerical sequence to filenames while preserving their original names. Give it a try!

  5. I like ReNamer (http://www.den4b.com/products/renamer) for renaming files.
