Is this true? When WinDV starts a new file after reaching the maximum frame size, it skips 10 frames? I have some long files and spent 3 days capturing at the default 22500 which is 12.5 minutes each file size. When I compare the end of one video to the beginning of the next video a few frames are skipped

edit update: maybe skips only a couple..... I was using VLC to compare the end of one file to the start of the next file.... BUT after some more playing around I found scrolling all the way to the right does not actually show you the last frame. You have to back up one notch, then use the Frame by Frame forward button in VLC and it will keep moving to the last frame which is pretty close to the next sequential file. But still maybe missing 1-3 frames.

I think ive seen such options in some program, i dont remember which one tough, but it was an choice to make! Is there no options to change this? if there is none have you tried look in the installation folder for an config file (.cfg/.ini or similar), maybe it is set to skip 10 frames there and you can set it to 0!

Why not change your limit? Most DV tapes don't last longer than 2 hours max (usually 60min, 90min), so that would be 216000 frames. Should be no problem creating single large file per tape, assuming NTFS Filesystem and OpenDML compliant AVI handling in the app.

Yes Vdub2 does go frame by frame correctly! Thanks. I have found no missing frames and WinDV is capturing all the frames.

VLC is a crappy program to use for checking frame by frame (mDV .avi type 2 is a compressed format) .... VLC is good for some quick things but not good for other things!
