I just started using DVD Styler and my first project didn't work and I was hoping to get some much needed assistance since I want to burn a bunch of DVDs in the near future I hope someone can help me solve this problem even though it seems very common in this forum.

I know the last directory part is wrong but I had it in another area and it didn't work either.
I put this same question in the DVD Styler Forum and I'm awaiting an answer.

Did you correct this filename: menu0-1.mpg_bg.m2v?
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence -Carl Sagan -
Just my 2 cents.
Unless you know the program, do NOT use BETAs. Stick to final versions. I have not gone beyond 3.1
Also I noted another potential issue from the report inasmuch that there was no specific default video format. Now in my version, as soon as I invoke it I get a screen asking me to confirm whether I want a PAL dvd or a NTSC dvd. If you do not get such a screen, any active encoding could fail regardless. 3 menus ? I guess some of these are dummy with only the second being active and can not continue for this reason.
Many programs use temp dirs. Do not mess with this. Your final output ends in the dir you choose. -
I assumed i was using the final version and i thought i only had 2 menus? (DB Reply)
Also do i need to change the file name of the menu i didn't realize that was part of the problem but I'm not familiar with the program so I'm not surprised. (Treetops reply) -
Are you using the auto-generated menu's or some motion menu that you created?
The latest beta creates incredibly poor video, you can see here some artifacts burned into the video
in a scene with motion. The source is 1920x804 progressive video @ 23.976 fps.
See the second image, this is how it should look with two different moments in time seen in the right pane (created in AVStoDVD)
I must admit, I'm new to DVDStyler - is there something that you have to set in the project when the source is 23.976 fps
and should be telecined with 3:2 pulldown? -
I'm not using a moving menu it's just a image with no motion, at least I think so and for some reason the files I saved in the directory are there but it won't play in VLC an error message shows up the input can't be opened.
I'm not sure what to do next
1000 Ways to Die Disc 1.zip
i included a zip file of the project whether or not it will open is remained to be seen -
I do not see anything basically wrong with the project. But to test it one would require at least one of the source .mkv files
Can you do a screen-capture of the video_ts directory the files have been written to plus a mediainfo text mode report of one of the larger vobs -
Your menu references "C:\Users\Colton\Downloads\Background.jpg" and "C:\Users\Colton\Downloads\LOGO.jpg".
Have you tried creating the dvd with one of their standard templates? -

I'm sending you one of the episodes i included in my chapters section.

As was mentioned by DB83 above, uninstall the beta and install version 3.21
from the software section here -
-
Well if you installed the 'latest' version direct from a download on this site then it is clearly marked 'BETA'. They do this to ensure that any updates are fully tested. And even your log showed it as BETA. I can not speak of downloads from other sources.
The purpose of the directory and the report is to attempt to establish if indeed the encode went correctly. Mediainfo is installed via the link given. Once installed, right-click on the vob from the directory and select mediainfo from the list. From the view menu select text and copy/paste that here.
I will run your project later with the sample mkv and report back. -
Ok. My own 'work' took a lot shorter than I anticipated so I have now run your project with my ALPHA version.
It crashed !!!!! So the issue does not appear to be the version - in this case.
So I decided to start again from scratch but using your mkv. Now when you start a new project you have two template options at the top of the screen - Title Selection and Chapter Selection (and I do recall you mentioning 'chapters'). I chose 'Title Selection' and the new project encoded without issue.
And, as I previously mentioned, your project was trying to encode a third menu which I now assume was for chapters but as far as I can see you only have titles and that does appear to be the issue here.
Try the whole project again from scratch with Title Selection - the menus appear quite similar. I do not think that custom images are contributing to the issue but I would still use an ALPHA program than a BETA. -
DB83 - What Alpha version are you referring to? Alpha usually means an early test version.
Perhaps for such a simple project A2D would be better. -
Maybe a bad choice of words.
What I meant was a non-beta/final version -

You can download the latest 'final' verson direct from this page
https://sourceforge.net/projects/dvdstyler/files/dvdstyler/3.2.1/
or direct from this site's software page
https://www.videohelp.com/software/DVDStyler
and I would concur that A2D or AVStoDVD (to give it it's full title) is a much simpler program to get on with. -

How does anybody know? You haven't given enough (any) details about your
workflow within the program.
It's not clear whether you experienced a bug in
the program or it's a problem with one or more of your assets.
If you want further assistance provide the steps you went to, in detail, in building
your project -
I loaded in DVD Styler added my videos then changed the background for both the main menu and chapter selection screen, edited the chapters section by changing some of the borders and changed the colors of the main menu and chapter selection buttons along with the placement.
I added in some music for the main menu and I didn't realize at the time that it had 3 menus loaded due to me wanting 5 episodes on one screen I assume it made another chapters page for the additional episode and without me noticing I attempted to burn it then I ran into the error message
**C:\tmp\dvd-tmp\menu0-1.mpg_bg.m2v: Invalid data found when processing input
**
Of course on my 1st burn attempt the directory was different, I tried 2 more times by removing the 3rd menu and changing the directory still no luck
and moments ago i tried to load in the videos on DVD Flick but the videos wouldn't load into the program.
I know they load into DVD Styler I'm just not sure why it won't burn them onto a disc -
Did you choose a template and then modify it or did you start with a blank background?
If so, which template did you use?
DVD Flick sometimes puts out a message "no usable video track". Unfortunately, the original support forum has long been deleted,
all the information regarding this error is no longer to be found. Articles on the internet talk about converting the source clips
to something else to make them DVD Flick-friendly. For example
https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/407816-DVD-Flick-No-usable-video-track-problem-fou...ith-resolution
Even still, I don't think DVD Flick offers the capability of a more elaborate menu as DVDStyler does.
DVD Styler is talked about so rarely in this forum, I'm not sure if anybody here knows it that well.
(But I could be wrong on that) -
I chose the yellow sun template whatever it's called I'm not sure exactly but i modified it.
Although now i downloaded the latest version of DVD Styler and I'm going to try and burn a show just using a template without modifying it and I'll reply back later today I'll try and just make a preview and not burn it yet to see if the problem resolves itself. -
