HDV capture DVCAM using HVRM25p

Hi all thanks for the time to ask a question.
I am attempting to capture old mini DV tapes , I have no problems with HDV 1080 but some mini dv are showing as JUST DV , they can be previewed on the screen of the player , all be it in 4:3 for some reason, but I cannot get the software to find the tape deck when playing DV tapes. the connection disappears, put in a HDV and its back. I have noted that the rate is showing 60 on my HDV but 50 on the DV tapes. This may be an issue.

Any thoughts would be really appreciated.
