    Hello all,

I have a number of videos of my granddaughter dancing and singing but they are all MOV files. As such they dont work and play well with non-Apple hardware/software. These MOV files I posted on my Plex server appear sideways. So I processed them with Handbrake which at least made the video orientation correct as it wasnt sideways any more but it also didnt fill the screen. How can I process these to display upright and fill my flat screen?

I think I used to know how to deal with this but with every new Apple update it seems to put me back at square one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It's not possible for a vertical phone video to fill the tv screen unless you
    crop it severely

Could explain exactly you mean by "fill the screen". Do you mean you have black bars on the top and bottom, or only the sides.

If it's only the sides, Dave's answer applies. If you want to fill the sides out, you'll need to crop a lot off the top and/or bottom.

Hence the advice that, if intending to view video on a TV, don't shoot "upright" or "portrait", as cool as it may look on the socials.
