  1. I'd like to learn how to edit an height / atmos track to a video sound track.
Our Sony / Onkyo / ... etc etc receivers can create a virtual atmos track.
Can we do this inside a DAW.
I'd like to add some atmos tracks to my collection of videos.
They already have 6 channels ... how can I add the atmos tracks.
I hope some one knows. Thank you

Drilling down, this is probably the important page: https://professional.dolby.com/content-creation/Dolby-Atmos-for-content-creators/.

    With this passage:
The most popular audio and spatial headphone workflows and DAWs like Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Nuendo, Studio One, Cubase, Pyramix, and Resolve, all support Dolby Atmos
    ,
    but also this:
Operate on the same Mac as your DAW, or install Dolby Atmos Renderer on a separate Mac or Windows* computer
*Dolby Audio Bridge, which is necessary to route audio from a DAW to Dolby Atmos Renderer on a single computer, is available for macOS only. Customers using Windows must run Dolby Atmos Renderer on a separate computer from their DAW and use a hardware solution to route audio to/from the DAW.
And what they don't mention, because they feel they shouldn't need to: $$$.

  4. I use Sound Forge 17 but it won't create an ac3 file that is 5.1.2. but yes to 5.1 ... no problem ... lots of programs do this conversion from stereo.
I'd like to see the info and perhaps a plug-in or two for creating height channels.
Well ... they do exist. But the people doing the explaining ... geez ... I'm not interested in object locations. I want to use one of the VST or VST3 plug-ins that are out there that can create height channels and then save it and create a mp4 video with ATMOS height channels mixed in too.
I'm asking for a work around to just open up a 5.1 audio track from a movie I like and what & how add some height channels to the sound effects.
I do have a Onkyo TX SR394. I haven't connected it up yet with my PC.
So ... has anybody mastered Nuendo well enuff to do a little walk through explaining how to just add some height channels to an audio track of a good movie.
