  1. i have a divx encoded AVi that I wanted to make a VCD with. I followed the guide here on this site to the letter. First I tried burning with Nero, but it wont play in my DVD player for some reason. My DVD player manual says it does play VCD's, so my dvd player isn't the problem.
So now I tried using VCDEasy, but when I click add file(to add my movie), my movie doesn't show in the list of compatible movies. What is wrong? I followed the guide perfect. any ideas?

  2. Have you converted the avi file to a VCD compliant MPEG, using software such as TMPGEnc.

  3. Yup I sure did .. I think. I followed the guide here at http://www.vcdhelp.com/divxtovcd.htm . I thought that guide was how to burn to a video CD compatible movie. I can't figure out what's wrong.

  4. I think all DVD players will play VCD's but not all will play CDR's. Check the compatability list on this site to see if yours will play CDR's. If not try using a CDRW, or a different colour CDR. Some players are fussy about the media they will accept. I am assuming that the MPEG1 file you have created plays on your pc ok. Does the disc that you have burned play on your pc ok.

If it plays in your pc ok you can be pretty sure that it is a compatability problem with your player and the media you are using.
