I have some VR180 2160p.mp4 files. On playback the frame contains two windows, one on the left, one on the right.

I'd like an easy way to convert them to non-VR files. Would like to not spend much.

I tried Wondershare Free Video Converter and set it to Convert to MP4 4K Video, but the output had the two left/right windows.

    Advice please?

  2. Use any conversion program you want. Just crop away half the frame, leaving only the left or right half.

Thank you very much once again, jagabo! (It's been a while, but I remember you.)

This shows my ignorance: The program wants to know the output aspect ratio of the half frame. Is that gonna be a letterboxed half of a 16:9 frame, or the whole 16:9?

  4. The half width frame is still 16:9.

    Thank you very much!

I went ahead and tried it both ways. I might not ever try it again, the ?fish-eye effect is very unsatisfying. So much so I found the half-width version less difficult to watch! But still, yuck!
