    Calling all editing wizards,

    So what I would like to have is one video where when the umbrella pulls up in the first video, the second video is playing behind it.

    Is this something I can do? Something you can do? Or just a nice little dream I have that can't be done?

    All advice is welcome!

    Yes, it can be done. I did it in After Effects. I split the umbrella layer at the point where the umbrella starts to rise, then I manually rotoscoped out the umbrella so the scenery is removed. Then I added the "revealed" footage to the bottom of the layer stack and adjusted its position in the timeline. Took less than 20 minutes, if that.
