I'm facing issues on capturing video on virtualdub. I see the picture running with no sound. Someone here showed me this tutorial, but it didn't help.

the "format" option on video section on Virtualdub is disabled.

Also, when setting custom format, whenever option I choose, it says "the capture device does not support the selected video format"

When I try to capture video, another error message says: "video compressor error: the source image format is not acceptable (error code-2)"

It's odd that some settings are not avaiable for me. Why?ImageImage

What is your setting under Compression?
    1. You need to install the codec e.g. HuffYUV
    2. Set the compression setting after installing the codec

What frame rate are you capturing?
Press F9 and key in your frame rate. (Brazil is PAL = 25 frame/sec)

    VirtualDub guides.

Failed on installation. I've moved the files to the SYSWOW64 and ran the prompt as an admin. Did not work.

Are you running Windows 7 or 10 or 11? From your profile, it's WinXP.

IT can be tricky to get it working on Windows 10.
Instead try UT codec and capture at 4:2:2 chroma

Before you do the above, please tell us how you connect your video source to your PC.

Ignore that message, click on More Information and click "Run anyway". You'll then get another warning-type screen; click "install anyway".

Windows thinks that the UT EXE file is dodgy. Since it's from VideoHelp, it's OK (I hope!). I just (re) installed it and haven't had any problems now or in the last two months (when I first installed it).

I am just thinking if we know how TS capture the video, then may be a WinDV or Scenalyzer capture in DV format and be done with. It's going into Premiere anyway.
