    Hi,
I'm on windows 11, trying to capture from vcr through usb-capturing-stick.
It works, but the quality is pretty bad. Very pixelated because of the MJEG, witch is the only videocodec I can choose?
It looks like something encoded with only 500 Kbs pr. sek. on "veryfast"
    I've installed K-lite codec pack.
I use Virtuel-dub. Also when I choose lossfree video, its only about 3 GB pr. hour.
On windows 10 I could record with about 100 GB pr 2 hours, and I got much better bitrate/quality.
Is it the stick thats really that bad?
Why can't I choose other codecs?
What am I doing wrong here, guys? Please help.
I only have grafficcard on the mainboard.

    Best regards.

  2. I did this 15 years ago. Because of the slow Pentium II PC, I recorded the video uncompressed and then in a second step converted it to DIVX.

You should also be able to choose uncompressed YUV 422 720x576.
But yes, this stick is bad anyway.

I can only choose yuv 480x320. And no settings availible. But yes, the stick "Logilink" seems crappy.
The input is also reallyd bad and pixelated, so I guess I have to spend more on a quality stick, box or whatever you can buy these days?
Do you have any suggestions to a good one?

I had a $10 converter that would only allow MJPEG, and would deinterlace to 30p in the hardware. I returned it.

I suggest trying another device from a reputable brand.

    I think I'll go for the Hauppaug usb-live 2.
But is there different models of this unit?
Some places it says windows 11 compatibility, and other places only windows vista?
