Virtualdub never worked with my capture card. The only software that can detect it with the faulty drivers it has is OBS Studio. I tried recording in x264 and it was dropping frames non stop. Is there a way to use Huffyuv? I am thinking of leaving behind my capture card altogether and buying this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/403383780354?hash=item5deb8c0402:g:ABwAAOSwXsdhlfcq&amdata...torefresh=true

Expected unfortunate news: it only records in MPEG 8mbps.

Then I thought of buying a cheap HDMI capture card. I looked at the reviews, and... it has framerate issues. My Diamond VC500 was faulty. The IO-Data GVUSB2 only works in one program. You pay for something and it doesn't work. Repeat x3.

Odd. Mine works with VDub, AmarecTV, OBS and my video editor (Win 11). Try the 111 driver from here ("uninstall" the GV-USB2 first):

This might set you on the right track (not tried in myself but Tim seems to know what he's talking about, based on another video I have seen of his):
