Hi all, this is a begging post ! I’m going away with my wife where there’s no internet. I have already told her I had downloaded the teacher series 2 - 4 episodes. When I actually came to do it yesterday I’ve seen they came be downloaded from my5. I’ve tried the downloaded from Angela but I am not computer literate and really struggling. Can I pull on anyone’s heart strings to download these episodes for me please ? Would really really appreciate it. Thanks so much

I seem to be having problems with downloaded files from "AllHell3 Gui" called from UKFTA 16_1. I know this is a few versions behind, but I'm not aware anything has changed in this regard (my humblest apologies if this isn't the case!). Any advice would be gratefully received:

I've downloaded (free) files from discovery+ and the audio goes out of sync seemingly after an advert break (As an example, try the new series of Fifth Gear). I use VLC to play the file, and there isn't anything I can do to solve this. However, playing it via Plex onto my TV, I can pause & restart and the audio sometimes resyncs correctly.

Can this be corrected during download? I tend to select video at 720p with the lowest bitrate for this kind of programme, but are there any other options I can apply? Failing that, is there a way to post-process the file once downloaded?

Not really an allhell3 problem; it decrypts. Only you are unhappy with what it decrypts. It would seem your audio stream has timing gaps for adverts to play - unusual but it happens.

You might choose another stream - use the manual download option - select the text-box labelled 'N_M3u8DL-RE Command' paste the contents to a terminal window and run it. Select an alternative stream for both audio and video.

If that doesn't work, ask in another videohelp forum - one with AV specialists in.

Jason, Its always a good idea to post the video url so other may try it.

Sometimes on C4 an episode will be listed but it won't actually be available. It may be waiting for it to air first. So wait a day or so and try again. Or post the link and others may check it for you.

Yes I get an error too. I'll put it on the to-do list. Meanwhile if you need them urgently AllHellGui, with you doing a bit of fetching, will get keys and download for you.

Hi Angela,

I have managed to get all the episodes from C4 using AllHellGUI, like you suggested.

I've also noticed AllHellGui seems to be getting these episodes at a higher quality compared to UK-FTA.

Is there anyway I can ensure the quality UK-FTA downloads are the highest? I only ask as I'm downloading other shows from the BBC and the quality doesn't seem consistent between episodes, I've also tried using the AllHellGui process with the BBC shows but I can't seem to find the ''cURL of License Request'' like I did with the C4 site.

BBC isn't encrypted so it doesn't need keys.

UK-FTA downloads the highest quality on web endpoints. So I am unsure as to why you are getting better with AllHell3. AFAIAA both provide 1080p on modern stuff. Quality maybe lower on historical programming.If it's watchable I don't get too hung up on quality.

BBC again, Ludwig - UK-FTA can't download episode 1 as it's not got any subs associated with it. All other episodes are fine.

Thanks Akirainblack. The BBC is well known for a messy back-end - to coin a phrase - and I could go mad trying to generalize code to cope with every BBC misconfiguration. It the fault was for a large set of videos not downloading it would be worth the time and effort.

When I select MY5 from the menu it brings up the error :

Extra data: line 1 column 4 (char 3)

If I run the my5_loader.py directly it works fine. Just thought I'd mention it.

Hi Angela. I got the error and then updated to the latest version and still get the error. I have two windows machines and get the same error on both which is a bit odd. Have a feeling it's maybe something I've done. When I searched for the error on the forum I found that the same error was happening for someone using Devine (post 833 in the devine thread). Very strange - when I use Devine I don't get that error.

Like I say though, it works fine using the direct my5 script so it doesn't matter. I'm just very grateful to be able to use the tools you provide, it's a golden age of TV for me at the moment, so many things to watch and so little time.

Hi Peter, sounds strange. I've a virtual Windows instance so I'll run it through that tomorrow and check. As for golden age - I'm finding the more I'm actually able to download, the less I do. YouTube seems to be gaining more of my attention.

Peter, I've just checked on Windows 11 and I have no issues. Most likely you have a bad python package somewhere in the chain. I'm not sure if you use python environments - one for Devine and another for UK-FTA. If not it may be a good idea, so that each keeps its own packages and they will not get updated or downgraded by other scripts.

If you need to find out how to use environments, it is really very easy - do a VH search for 'Beyond WKS-KEYS' ... setting up envs is in that.
