I'm new to this game, so i need some help please.
I have d/loaded 4 small avi's, I put them altogether using virtual dub. I then converted the 1 big avi to mpeg with TMPGenc. So far so good ( i can click on the mpeg and it plays just fine. My problem is when i burn with Nero 5582 (following the guide lines on this forum) I end up with 5 folders on the cd and it won't play. The folders are : CDI, MPEGAV, VCD, EXT and SEGMENT. The MPEGAV folder contains a file named AVSEQ01.dat and it's the same size as the mpeg. WOT am i doing wrong
Thx

As far as I can tell:
you did nothing wrong: you have just created a VCD.The Dutchman -
xzardad is correct, you have done nothing wrong: you have just created a VCD.
The .dat file is the actual mpg that you created. In order for it to be read as a VCD file and not an mpg, Nero just converted it. The other files and folders are additional information for your DVD player. If you want to play the VCD on your computer, I suggest that you play the .dat file in Microsoft Media Player. I do believe (I think this was the app that I opened mine in) that is should play. If it doesn't play, you can always download a VCD player program. My shameless plug - XavierEnterprises.net -
Thanks for the help. I have now associated the dat file with wmp, but is there anyway to force autoplay?
