I cannot phrase this well but here is what I have:
An SRT that starts at minute 00:04:00.000 or so. I want to add on the first 3+ minutes to that first entry in order to put in described events and such not part of the original. There's surtitle in those minutes that is importat info and the like.
Is it as easy as typing in 00:00:00.0000 in an editor such as Notepad++ or is there more to it to keep what exists intact?
I found that trying to "add line before" and such in Subtitle Edit was not working since it effects the content..

"Insert before" works as long as there is enough time between the line you select and the previous line -
otherwise it gives you a warning like this. Even still it doesn't disturb the succeeding lines,
like here where I clicked on "in the middle of the widest..." and attempted to "insert before"Last edited by davexnet; 4th Oct 2023 at 18:31.

Thanks dave
Using my example of 00:04:00.000 I could insert before and edit that line to set to top of form at 00:00:00.000 to get that space back ? I will try it with a test line.
