I am using software that generates perfectly valid DVD-compatible MPG file (although with BFF for some reason, but I suppose it is not prohibited for DVD), and the video is actually interlaced, but is flagged progressive. I can deinterlace it in VirtualDub, but media players show combing because they think the file is progressive. I can adjust VLC, still I would prefer the header to be correct.
Can someone help me, how to patch the header from progressive to interlaced. Also, just in case how to specify either TFF or BFF.
Thanks!

For DVD you may (?) also have to modify the IFO

 or for VOBs:

 or take a look at

DVD can be TFF or BFF

Someone else might help with an ffmpeg commandline .......Last edited by Sharc; 4th Oct 2023 at 03:35.
