I two questions. One how do you get into capture mode in irtualDub i have version 1.4.10 and I can't figure it out. Second I'm going to get a movie that's been split into two parts how do i merge them and burn it onto one vcd

For the capture mode you need a TV card, or similar.

Did you try this:

open the software that came with your card, select the input channel, and close the program again. Now open Virtual dub and go to capture.
