Consumer D-VHS was a TV programing recording format, then later became a pre-recorded movie delivery format for HD contents for consumers, the only HD delivery format for consumer on tape in fact, So it was never intended for recording home videos.
In the pro arena though, there was a JVC JY-HD10U, a hand held pro camcorder for low budget operation that goes along the JVC pro decks, The SR-VD400US D-VHS Player and the SR-VDA300US D-VHS Recorder, It doesn't have a D-VHS tape transport, only DV tape but it can record in multiple formats in SD and HD among them the HD MPEG-2 compatible with D-VHS.Last edited by dellsam34; 20th Sep 2023 at 03:09.
