Hey users! I need to record a video to train an AI, my colleague has explained me that the algorithm its not very good processing variable frame rate videos and we have to train it more. I was wondering how can I record or transform a video to a frame rate variable video, you know, the ones that low quality CCTV cameras record. Thank you very much!

Well... use low quality CCTV cameras, VFR can be related to at least two basic reasons, first errors in CFR video - such errors may be related to poor software processing (software is unable to cope with high number of data in real time), second primary source is dropping frames where no scene change is detected (usually scene change threshold is set high). Buy or rent such cheap CCTV cameras, alternatively as operators for content - who knows, maybe shops, neighbors will share such footage with you.

Thank you so much for your reply! So... there is any way to record a video with a smartphone and processing it via a video editing software and make it VFR? We have old CCTV cameras but I dont really know how they work and how to configure them. Thank you!

Most phone footage IS vfr, especially if the light level is lacking. This has been discussed here a number of times.
