Last time when I did my VHS recordings with the GV-USB2 it worked. Now no matters how many times I reinstall the driver, Virtualdub cannot connect to the desired driver. I thought I might use my Panasonic DMR-EH55 to record to DVD but then I'd lose quality ripping it from the DVD. If I can find my EasyCrap capture card somewhere the quality will be abysmal. Might as well give up at this point. Maybe the GV-USB2 worked out of luck on Windows 10, and is really only compatible with Windows 7, given the screenshots on their Web 2.0 website are of Windows 7?

There was a report from someone that the 112 driver is a bit flaky. Try the 111 driver from here:

    https://www.iodata.jp/lib/software/g/1780.htm#Windows%207

Oddly, the change from 110 to 111 (recommended for Win 7) was to add Win 10 compatibility. Scratches head.

Try with AmarecTV or your video editor.

When it's plugged in, do you see it in Device Manager > Sound, Video and Game Controllers?

Both 111 and 112 are similar, numbers-wise. 111 (1.1.0.193.5) is dated 2010 and 112 (1.1.0.193.8) is dated 7/06/2021. Those numbers are from the driver itself in the capture program but the dates are from the driver properties in Device Manager.

I installed 111 and AmarecTV "cannot playback the audio stream: no audio hardware is available, or the hardware is not responding". When it's plugged in it shows up under Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Update: it's working now in Virtualdub. Thanks

For your GV-USB2 did you leave deinterlacing as it is, on "weave" for the device settings? There doesn't seem to be a way to disable deinterlacing for 111.

Yes, I leave mine on Weave. It's my understanding that it's best to deal with deinterlacing in post-capture processing.

The GV-USB2 worked for 5 minutes, and then went back to the same issue, cannot connect to capture device, and afterwards I received a blue screen of death and the point of failure was the GV-USB2 and the 111 driver caused a fault in non paged area in memory. Then I installed Windows 7 on a USB to see if it would make any difference, and the same issue there as well, cannot connect to capture device.

Hmm. That does not sound good at all. I don't have any further ideas.
