    Hello all, I have tried different tapes and did a cleaning of the heads using paper and 91% alcohol with no luck. Messed with all the settings onboard the machine and still am experiencing said issue. Only 477 hours on the head according to the onboard menu.

    Any ideas on what is causing this and how to fix it?

  2. I don't know what's causing this but you can try the destripe filter with avisynth

    http://avisynth.nl/index.php/DeStripe

    It could look like this (you must deinterlace with qtgmc first):
    avisource()
    assumetff()
    qtgmc("fast")
    selecteven()

    # May require several instances of destripe
    TurnLeft()
    DeStripe(2,3,16)
    DeStripe(2,2,16)
    DeStripe(2,1,12)
    TurnRight()

    To see what's going on, first you have to connect it to a TV with an analog input to see if the capture device is the culprit or not.

    Sorry I forgot to mention that I initially did hook it up to an analog monitor and still had the same results, see below. I also used a completely different tape as well
