Can you check what happens if the subtitles are in srt format?
Hello, I'm using Subtitle Edit 4.0.0 and I have a subtitle that I want to burn-in in my video, but when I do this the length of my 14min video becomes 25min.
Normal lenght:

Lenght after generate burn-in subtitles:

My guess is that it is getting the duration of the subtitle times and not the duration of the video when I generate the subtitles, because in my project most of the time I have two simultaneous subtitles showing at the same time, and because of that in the statistics it says that subtitle time is 24min.

Is this a bug or is it normal? if it's normal how can I make it so that it doesn't happen anymore and keep the normal duration of the video when I generate the burn-in subtitles?
Additional information, I'm using subtitles in .ass format for more styling freedom.
Can you check what happens if the subtitles are in srt format?

Oh, nevermind. For some reason I though you were using ffmpeg.

SE V4 was only recently released. Perhaps this is a bug with ass that need to be reported.
Can you install the previous version and see if you get the same results?
Shorten your subtitle to the video duration.
Care to explain? Is there any way to shorten my subtitles without affecting their screen time?
Because I have many subtitles like this:

Where there are two subtitles at the same time, notice that it is the same start time and end time, which almost doubles the subtitle time of my video, but the problem is that I need the subtitles that way and also keep the original duration of the video, in the preview player inside the SE it is perfect, the problem is when I generate the video.
Update:
I still couldn't generate my video with the same original duration using Subtitle Edit, but I managed to burn-in my subtitles using the "streaming" function in VLC and it worked perfectly there, the video kept its original duration, so I can use this method from here on.
But if anyone knows a way to solve this problem in Subtitle Edit please let me know, as it would be more practical to generate the video there.
