I've got some old dv tapes and I want to transfer them to files. Just bought a via 1394 card, installed it into my desktop, win10 automatically find the via driver. I downloaded the legacy driver from microsoft, updated the 1394 driver and changed to the legacy driver. Device manager shows that it's installed, but when I plug my jvc viewcam to the 1394 firewire and turn the cam on, no new device appear. I then figure out that there is a kernel-pnp error event id 411, the legacy driver is not activated. Anyone can help?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Download and use Scenalyzer, Don't worry about what appears on the screen.

It's win10 can't initiate/activate the 1394 legacy driver, even before i connect the 1394 cable. It can activate the via driver but can't detect the cam. It seems nothing to do with the capture program, it's the problem come with win10, right?

Did you even try besides just assuming? Besides you don't always need the legacy driver, you should have tried sclive before installing any more stuff, it's easy to troubleshoot going step by step.

Check your camcorder port or change the firewire cable. What camcorder model is?
