Hello everybody, I'd need an external self-powered Hard Disk to record channels from TV or digital receiver.
I wish to know whether the external Hard Drives of the "WD Elements Portable" series are suitable for this purpose or whether I need to use the "My Passport AV-TV" series.

I use MyPassport 5TB (they go from 1TB-5TB) to record from my satellite dish and it works great.
The WD Element is slightly cheaper because it doesn't include backup software but I also suspect it is not as good as MyPassport.
I am not familiar with My Passport AV-TV it is probably more expensive and overkill for your purpose.
