    Hi there!
A friend of mine has a Betacam SP machine - it's Sony UVW-1600P. It is currently hooked up via composite output due to lack of component capture. Unfortunately output picture is like the one from the image attached. How can he fix this?

P.S S-Video has the same output

You need a proper diagnosis with some test tapes and an oscilloscope.

The problem is that it is not happening on all tapes as you can see on the attachment. Another addition the Betacam deck is hooked up via composite output to a Sony RDR-AT205. Could you recommend any settings that need to be adjusted on both?

No, I don't know what the problem is to suggest anything, Betacam in general is better captured over component or SDI if equipped with an internal analog to digital converter.

Hopefully someone else who has ran into the same issue will answer...
