I am new to DVD recording. I just got the Pioneer A04 and burnt my first DVD-R. I recorded 2 DV home videos to the disk. the first was about 30 mins long and played perfectly, the second was about 10 mins long and had 2 problems. within the first minute it stutterd a bit and then for about the last minute there was no audio. I converted the DV video to mpg using Ulead Video Studio 6 and burnt it to the DVD with Sonic MYDVD, The mpg plays perfectly so i am sure the conversion was ok.

    I would appreciate any suggestions

Also, i am wondering if i understand the DVD recording. When I record to a DVD-R or DVD-RW the properties show no space left on the disk no matter how much or how little I recorded on the disk. Is there a way to add more files later?

Are you using a digital camcorder? How are you getting them into DV format? I'm using the Sony Media DV Converter personally and it works perfect.... if the DV video plays badly I would think there would be no change after conversion, unless it plays badly because of system resources.

I am using a Sony DV camera which is connected by firewire to the PC. The program I use is Ulead Video Studio 6 to edit the video and convert it to an mpg file.
