i have been searcing the forums and i have seen all kinds of sync problems. i havent quite seen mine though. mine problem is that the vcd i have or the mpeg rather will be perfectly in sync on my computer. however, when i use nero to burn it it will be out of sync. this is only with certain movies also. i have noticed that if the vcd is a screener or dvd rip or some kind of svcd or if the properties of the mpeg is set at 352x240 then when i burn it with nero it works fine and stays in sync on my player. the ones i am having problems with is the ones that are at the setting of 352x288. now this wouldnt be a problem if most of the movies i got were at the settings that worked for me. thats not the case though. most of the movies i get are set to 352x288. is there any kind of way i can correct this problem.
a while a go people told me that the 352x288 was the setting for pal and in nero i should just switch the option to pal instead of ntsc. i did that and the movie still was out of sync. does anyone have any advice.

Yes 352x288 is the pal resolution for vcd and 352x240 is the ntsc resolution for vcd. I'm guessing that you are running an ntsc setup, (US and JAP mainly.) If this is the case then what I think is happening is that your dvd player is converting your pal vcds to ntsc in real time. The problem is that not all dvd players do this well, even very expensive ones. The most common symptom of this is loss of sync.
There really isn't much you can do short of encoding your pal clips to ntsc and then burning them. A simple method of doing this would be to simply load your mpg in TMPGenc, load the ntsc vcd template and hit encode. You will lose some quality with this conversion but its inevitable.
