Super Basic Camera with HDMI Out

Hello all,

A few years ago I was looking for a device but couldn't find it...the good people here at VideoHelp suggested the ATEM Mini Pro and it was marvelous.

I am again asking for help with a device I'm not sure exists...a just enough essential parts camera for use with the ATEM Mini Pro or any other HDMI input device. I just need the basic camera components, a sensor, a lens, an HDMI output...and whatever electronics necessary to power it and send a 1080p/60 signal out the HDMI port. Most cameras have their owner recording capability, microphone or audio input, wifi, etc. but all I need is something that can send a video only signal to the ATEM Mini Pro.

I know there are super basic camera modules you can pair with a Raspberry pi, but they are very small sensors and don't come anywhere near the nicer camera sensors/lenses...I was hoping for some kind of happy medium.

Budget?

I got my nikon d3200 years ago for ~$700, but it looks like it can be found on places like ebay for much less. It allows for clean (no onscreen data overlay) 1080p hdmi out.

that would have been a good detail to add, huh ...honestly I wasn't sure what the budget was.

With my other ATEM Mini Pro setup I bought a Sony a6300 and at the time it was around $2,300...I was really hoping for a no frills, large sensor "dumb" camera for sub-1,000.

perhaps searching the used market for slightly dated cameras is the more viable option at this time...what I'm looking for might just be too niche for a market...

I see that Nikon on eBay for around $250-300 in quite a few places...I really can't expect much lower for what it offers

The d3200 is a standard micro-4/3rds sensor cam, which is not as large as a fullframe 35 sensors, but the next best thing.

All in all, it is a really good line.

Any camera with clean HDMI output should work, because the ATEM mini's line of switchers, adjusts the frame rate, so if an action cam will do, you can use a GoPro aslo, or a digtal compact camera with clean HDMI you can use also, if you want some real quality, and have already some MFT lenses, you can buy the BGH1, which has really many options to use, for $2000 (new price) other DSLR's (new) will cost you more otherwise go for a second hand camera, but you have to do some research for the clean HDMI feature.
But if you can spend the money, the BGH1 (13 stops) is just what you are looking for, for what i've read in your posts Super basic

I totally get what you're looking for. A no-frills camera with just the essentials can be hard to find. I've been in a similar boat, and the ATEM Mini Pro is fantastic. However, I love quality cellular trail camera even more. But have you considered checking out dedicated HDMI output camcorders? They might offer the simplicity you need without all the extra features. Good luck with your search!

Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K/6K. HDMI output, high-resolution recording. Various lenses can be used
Panasonic Lumix GH5.HDMI output sending a 4K signal.
Sony Alpha a6400. HDMI output and high definition recording capability.
Canon EOS M50 Mark II. HDMI output, recording in various modes.
These cameras have basic components and can be connected directly to the ATEM Mini Pro via HDMI. Some cameras require an additional battery. I usually buy cameras and consumer electronics wholesale on the Internet at good prices
