im just wondering, about how long does it take you to convert one part of a movie when you are making a vcd and are putting the audio with the video? It takes me like....5 hours is there anyway to speed this up?

there are faster programs than tmpgenc but they cost money big money.
We were all NEWBIES once and the only stupid question is the one that's not asked? -
It's really CPU dependant. I have a Tbird 1.2GHz 266Mhz FSB w/ 512MB of ram (ram isn't really that important for encoding thou). I normally use CCE to encode. For most converisons I get ~1x the source run time per pass (and do 3pass VBR encodes).
For TMPGenc an encode w/ the standard VCD template seems to take ~2.5-3x the source runtime.
