  1. Hello!

Ich have a rear view camera which I would like to use for another purpose. The camera (probably) works with 12V.
I tried to get a video with a video grabber, but it didn't work.

The camera has 5 cables coming out (red, black, yellow, white, green)
Does anyone have an idea, how I could connect the camera to a computer?

    Thanks for help!

  3. Unfortunately, I don't know. Nothing is written on the camera.
Only a tiny stick: a clock face and a "N" in the middel.

  6. You're going to fry the camera if you apply 12V to the wrong wire.

My question is: Why would you even bother when HD Web Cams can be had for about $20.
    Re connections:
One would be Power (red), one would be Ground (black), one would probably be enable so it turns on when going into reverse, possibly one would be for the infrared LEDS so they are only on at night, and the last one video. ..... That's my assumption. Doubt that the camera would have audio.

It's because it's already dead that's why it doesn't work. But why even bother with an analog camera, the analog to USB grabber, the power source and the wiring required when you can get a USB powered webcam for few dollars and a better picture quality?
