By the way, I'm curious to know whether you were charged $4k by an individual or a professional business for the project you mentioned earlier. Please understand that this inquiry is not meant to be intrusive; I find it valuable to know in case I decide to hire someone for a similar endeavor in the future. However, I'm not familiar with the specific term for individuals who undertake such projects - perhaps electrical engineers? As for the business entity, I'm unsure what they are commonly referred to. If you prefer not to disclose any personal information, feel free to provide a more generic response that can guide me in the right direction.
Thank you.

An individual with a company in Europe, Small operation, maybe 3 to 4 engineers. Big corp wanted way more than that, We discussed a royalty fee per item sold but since I wasn't sure how many I'm going to market I decided to go for a one time payment. Trust me no one is going to do it for an amount worth spending on one item for personal use.

I appreciate the information.
In the past, I used to be heavily involved in RC activities, and the community was incredibly supportive. Whether on the field, in online forums, or at the track, we always assisted each other without expecting anything in return. Countless hours were spent helping others with their equipment, and the thought of asking for payment never crossed our minds. In fact, if someone tried to offer money, we'd jokingly reject it. It's amusing to think that many of these generous individuals held high-paying positions as lawyers or doctors, yet they gladly devoted their time to helping others in the RC community.
While I know that they didn't sacrifice their jobs to be there for us, it's a testament to the strong sense of camaraderie and support that existed among RC enthusiasts. Even in challenging situations, I try to remain positive and see where life takes me.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. -
Community forums do still exist, This is one of them and vhs-decode is one of the big projects going on right now, also there are tons of projects going on on Github and other platforms but for things that interest the masses not your personal needs, What you are trying to achieve is not needed by others, so you have two options, buy the existing products suggested or fork some big money and make your wish come true. Cornucopia summarized it for you, I don't know why I keep trying.

Good to know. Thanks.

I don't know why I keep trying.,
Even if I don't find that person immediately, I can still gather all the necessary information to identify the right direction to turn this vision into a reality. If need be, I could even consider starting a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project. I must admit, I've never embarked on such an endeavor before, but I'd only do it if I'm absolutely certain about the steps to make it work, being 1000% sure of where to go and how to proceed.
Thanks. -
EDIT: ChatGPT did not "rewrite" my last post the way I wanted to, so let me try again:
You spend time helping. Time is time. Maybe someone else who can actually build something like this, is willing to also spend their time. But instead of typing, they build. Does that makes sense?
thanks.
