so i captured the video in lossless compression and want to cut away

so i got these huge avi files with some black recording before and after the video just taking up disk space. Now when i convert the video i am cutting away these black parts but is there a way to cut away the black parts from these original lossless videos without having to reprocess the whole file? some of the videos i setup the recording timer to 2:50 min while the actual video was 1:50 min so i got an extra hour or 25-26GB of black video taking up space. Any ideas?

You can edit them in vdub2 using stream copy mode.
