How to download a program from bbc iplayer?
I have tried using the mpd links on yt dlp, it says forbidden. I am in UK, so its not a problem of vpn.

Sounds like your IP is being flagged as a VPN. Try a different IP.

That means your IP is detected as a VPN/Proxy OR its not in the UK.

If you are in the UK and not using a vpn, I recommend cloudflare warp. https://1.1.1.1/ This will change your IP and it works with iPlayer. It only gives you another IP of the same country you are in.

I am in UK. I used cloudflare and it does the same. Mabye i should just use a vpn , but i dont know which vpn will work, because most of them will do the same. Can you recommend any good vpn for chrome that will not be detected ?

Nope. Gotta be in the UK. you must not be in the uk if cloudflare doesnt work.

yt-dlp does not need an mpd for video from the BBC; it uses its own extractor.

yt-dlp <bbc url> is enough

yt-dlp -F https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00y207k/zoo-quest-zoo-quest-to-west-africa to show which formats are available.

so run simply yt-dlp link (and add aria2 or N8 to increase down speed)

IP UK is required (all vpn it's ok)

Note that I really am in UK, I am not lying. I dont know why cloudflare isnt working but i am in UK, Manchester to be exact.
I can watch the video online and get the mpd, the problem must be when cmd connects to the internet, it cant find the video or something.

I think the problem has already been described, so I don't think this will work for you, but you could try get_iplayer from github. The last time I used this it worked for 1080p when yt-dlp got 720p.

As already said though, out side the UK (or inside the UK but 'detected' as outside the UK) it's either very (very) slow, or possibly doesn't work at all anymore.

i ve tried every single vpn except express, because i dont have account. Every other vpn including nord, windscride etc. do exactly the same.

Downloading and reuploading 18 videos is time consuming, I doubt anyone would spend that time doing it free.

Cloudflares Warp is free and works for me, I see no reason if you were truly in the uk... (Not in Greece like your profile shows) warp would change your ip and work for iplayer.

What is your ISP? As long as its a dynamic ip you can get a new one by turning off the router for 5mins then turning it back on.

If you are in the UK then your current ip is falsely flagged as a vpn and getting a new ip will work.

What are you using cloudfare for? If you are in the UK use your ISP's router settings and make sure you can watch a BBC video from the BBC's iplayer webpage.

When that is working - and if it isn't talk to you ISP's helpdesk -try get_iplayer as below. Just use the Program ID (--pid) and not any url.

I have, it does the same. it says 4 warnings like no media found and others even though i dont use vpn and i can watch the video from the bbc iplayer website .

Its ok now. I tried on my work pc on another IP and it works. Although, i have to find the problem with my house's IP
