I have imported a number of .mts files into Sony Vegas Pro 11.0 and I want to render them to a blu-ray format so that I can use them in Sony DVD Architect to create a blu-ray disc. I know I have to render the sound as a .ac3 file but what mpeg-2 format do I render the video as? The source is a Sony HDR-TG3 camera resulting in a 1920x1080 pixel file. Some of the choices are
Blu-Ray 1920x1080-24p, 25 Mps video stream
Blu-Ray 1920x1080-50i, 25 Mps video stream
Blu-Ray 1920x1080-60i, 25 Mps video stream
DVD Architect PAL Widescreen video Stream
Any suggestion please.

a tad too much info there I am afraid. I think I will go with Blu-Ray 1920x1080-50i, 25 Mps video stream unless someone has a better idea (I am in Europe, that is why I chose 50i instead of 60i).

I have that camera also. I haven’t ever created a BR disc from it. Living in Pal land I usually choose the 50i 25 Mbps option.
Whenever I did create a BR disc I nearly always elected not to use DVDA, instead in vp I simply opt to output to a BR iso file then use Nero or Windows to burn the image to br disc.Last edited by JN-; 20th Jul 2023 at 06:39.

A Blu-Ray compliant .m2ts file has to fulfill many more restrictions than just ac3 audio and 1920x1080 25i video (i.e. 25 interlaced frames per second, sometimes called 50i for 50 fields per second). In general, there is a high chance that DVD Architect is going to re-encode the file again in order to make it Blu-Ray compliant. DVD Architect is pretty picky in this respect.
Vegas should however export a Blu-Ray compliant file as far as I remember, ready for being authored by DVDA without requiring a re-encode. So your choice should be ok.Last edited by Sharc; 20th Jul 2023 at 07:14.
