Hi
I have a Panasonic DMR-EX87 which has stopped working. When I power it on it says U81. The content on the recorder is very important so Im contemplating just fixing the recorder depending on the the cost. Im concerned the repair cost may be close to the price of buying a newer model as the EX87 is 10 yrs old.
- Does anyone know if I can just remove the HDD and install it in a newer model Panasonic?
- If not is it possible to copy the HDD to a computer then for me to copy videos to a new Panasonic recorder?
Thanks
Anthony

I can only help you with the copying of the HDD content. If you get to that stage and you have the HDD in your hand (I am guessing it is a SATA HDD 2.5"), then you just buy a HDD to USB adapter like this one without enclosure or one with enclosure, respectively.
