    Greetings
What causes Subtitle Edit to read aloud inserted srt and how do I stop it?
It happened few times and I don't know what did I click by mistake.
    It is annoying.
Right now I close Subtitle Edit and reopen it to avoid reading aloud of the srt
There must be a better way
    Thank you

Which version do you have? Latest is 3.6.13
Perhaps you have a video or audio file opened in SE?

my SE version is indeed 3.6.13
of course I have video file opened. I'm working on it.
The sound of a video file is not reading aloud the srt (including start time & end time)
I sincerely hope cortana is not in memory all the time. I seldom use it
I use it seldom for search only (not my favorite tool)
is there a way to neutralize cortana sound?
    thank you

If it something that you did unintentionally, try settings > Restore default settings (at bottom right)
