I have a project that displays the images of multiple cameras simultaneously on a WIndows 10 PC, and I am currently using AMCAP for this. AMCAP will only display a single camera at a time, and so I use multiple (three) instances of AMCAP, one for each camera. Each camera and instance requires unique settings for screen location, camera being used, rotation, zoom, etc.
By default, AMCAP stores settings such as these in an INI file when AMCAP is exited, which are then used when it is next started. However, there is only ONE INI file. That means that when I next launch my three instances, the settings retrieved from the INI file are those of the last instance to have been most closed. That is fine for one instance, but the other two instances unique settings are "overwritten".
Also, AMCAP allows me to pick which camera to display from a pull down under DEVICES which lists the three installed cameras. However regardless of what the INI file captures as the camera last used, AMCAP starts with the FIRST camera on this list. Which of course means that the second and third instances raise an error since the first instance is already using the first camera on the list. This is an annoyance as it requires me to dismiss the error and then pick another camera from the pull down.
Further, currently the third instance will NOT start even when the start error is dismissed, and the third camera is selected from the pull down. The error keeps repeating.
HELP
Is there a way to start AMCAP from a command line with switches that will allow it to start with a predetermined camera and screen position regardless of the contents of the INI file?
Thanks
Jim Byrne
