Images have EXIF, which contain such info, but the EXIF via MediaInfo doesn't show such information for videos. Is there any other open source app that can do this?

  2. I use Faststone Image Viewer to get that data.

It can only report what is included in the data.
I don't think you find a better tool. Many are based on this SW from Phil Harvey.

  6. Metadata for video cameras is not as standardized as EXIF for stills.

IF the camera provides that data, you can read it in the free version of Davinci Resolve.
Drag your clip into the media pool, highlight it, and look for the metadata tab on the right. There is a dropdown that gives further options.

(as Sharc says, exiftool is very good.)

Thats it really. I used exiftool to make up a simple metadata util, some videos that I tested give great output, but a lot don’t. If its not there its not there.
