I have a PVR. It is the Iview 3500STBII. I record tv with it
onto a flash drive , but there are commercials in the content. Are there any websites that allow me to edit out the commercials? Also, are there any online sites that feature FFMPEG so i can go that route and i don't have to re-encode the videos? Any advice would be appreciated!

Best to use offline editors since most videos are copyright and if you upload any to online editors then you can get into trouble.

If the recordings are in *.ts format, you can use Cypheros TS Doctor to cut out the commercials.
They have 30 days full features trial and well worth buying.
I wouldn't rely too much on their commercials seeking feature. I usually do it manually but perhaps the latest version does a better job now.

The videos are in .MTS format. Would just buying VideoRedo be better to edit out the commercials?

Thanks for the advice. Would VideoRedo be the best option to edit out commercials?

@snafoo, VRD is great for this; I use it all the time. When you get the hang of the shortcuts, it's quite quick to zip through a file, marking the ads and run a lossless trim. It has an audio waveform so you can cut on the silent bits.

Be aware though that the owner/developer of VRD passed away last year so new copies may not be available. I was able to reactivate my old copy on my new computer in May though.
