    Hello to the team!

I have JVC BR-HD50 MiniDV deck and I wanna capture some videotapes through firewire port but no image came out.
    1. I have check the firewire port and it is working (both: deck and pc).
    2. I tried to capture with obs and Nerovideo software.
    3. The last firmware is installed to deck by a technician.

Is there anyone who has a brilliant idea to solve this problem?

Ι want to capture only with firewire (I am peculiar, I know!).

Yes, capture with Scenalyzer or WinDV. OBS will recode your pristine DV on the fly to MP4. I am unfamiliar with Nero.

Recently, I have found WinDV to be hit and miss; Scenalyzer, on the other hand, has been rock-solid, so I suggest you try WinDV (it's a bit simpler than Scenalyzer) but don't persevere with it; if it doesn't work, hop into Scenalyzer.

I have posted my PDF guides for Scenalyzer and WinDV on my website. It is currently not a HTTP"S" but will be shortly.

Good morning or good afternoon (whatever) Alwyn!

Thank you for your help. I forgot to mention that I have also tried to capture with sclive (scenalyser), Windv and HDVSplit, with the same (zero) outcome.
The problem is all these programs can "see" firewire with sony camera but they cannot communicate with jvc minidv deck.
I upload screenshots of sclive, with sony camera and jvc deck try.

The firewire port is OK (alive but not kicking). I connect both camera and deck to the same pc via two firewire ports and when i play a videotape on the deck, the video is showing on the camera screen (clever ehhh?).

    Arvo here.

the video is showing on the camera screen
    That is clever! .

Are there no other options in the ScLive dropdown? I have used a JVC Everio that came up as "JVCXXXX" instead of the normal "Microsoft DV Camera..."

FYI, HDVSplit only works with HDV signals, which are quite different to a DV signal.

    I've drawn a blank, sorry.

Unfortunately there is no other option in the drop down menu.
Thank you a lot for your info and have a nice weekend.
