  1. Hi All,

I am interested in purchasing an Elgato capture card to record videos purchased on services such as Itunes and google play movies, however, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a device currently capable of stripping the HDCP so that I can record in HD?

    Any help would be appreciated,

I think we're not supposed to discuss circumvention here but many of the cheap HDMI splitters available online will do the job.

Not all of them do… check for use cases.

The onn HDMI splitter works in my case. There is upsides to good old raw capture compared to screen capture on playback. 1) less Cpu use as your just capturing and 2) alot of stuff is only high bitrate and resolution on Roku, Google tv etc. On PC it's sometimes restricted to 480p. Just make sure your monitor is on port 1 and the capture device is port 2 or later on the splitter and that the capture card is set to the same resolution as the monitor.
if all else fails read the manual

Any tips (Aliexpress?) I'm planning to test the capturing through the Panasonic DMR-EH585 and I assume that I will get an HDCP signal at the HDMI output, unfortunately.
