  1. hey!

i really appreciate any help that leads me in the right direction.

i have 2 videos encoded from the same master file, but they are encoded in a different way.
first one from this year is 24 fps constant bitrate but second one is from last year and i was encoding it with variable bitrate when i remember correctly. but container is somehow also cbr 24 fps.

now when i watch the videos in adobe premiere, i can see that the second one has sometimes duplicate frames but also after a few minutes the duplicate frames are no longer present...but for that i now have frames in the first file, that do not exist in the second one.

my goal is to match both videos so that every frame its the exact same frame in every video... so that there are no duplicate or missing frames.
going frame by frame and find the duplicate or the missing ones and delete them is...veeery time consuming. and this is only the preparation for the real work (i want to play them side by side for example)

    so my question is:
is there any way like any program, tool, script or ai that does this job for me ? or atleast anything that make it easier or faster ?

i already tried "mpdecimate" from ffmpeg but its always missing duplicate frames or deleting too many. and it does of course not handle the frames from first video that are not present in the second one.
i also tried everything i could in after effects but nothing was working so far ...

most of the time there is a gap of 30 - 60 frames between single frames that have to be deleted in either of the videos. but its not a consistent number...

    thank you for your time

  3. hi thanks for your reply.

there is nothing "wrong" with the first one.
but among other things i want to play them side by side which does not work when there are duplicate or missing frames

  4. Copy your first video and use the copy as second video.
